LAWSON served as the architect for the expansion of NBC News designing renovations on both the First Floor and Lower Level of the building. The project included the completion of a new Studio on the First Floor, along with the Rack Room, Engineering Shop, and Office Space on the Lower Level. The scope of work involved removing two 20” square columns on the First Floor to open up the space for the new Ground Floor set. The project also encompassed the installation of new power systems, including UPS and Generator support for the 70-rack equipment room, as well as mechanical chiller systems. Exterior renovations required Fine Arts approval. The HD Studio team handled the set design.
